The Blue Hill Boys & Girls Club and the Nexus Alliance helped make Thanksgiving brighter for Dorchester families by handing out nearly 400 free turkeys to community residents on Sunday, November 23. Nearly 40 volunteers distributed the turkeys outside of the Club. The event was made possible by the Nexus Alliance, whose mission is to cultivate a network of black male professionals that provide an inclusive platform for mentoring, internal business development, community achievement and visibility. Nexus was also responsible for additional sponsors, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, MetroPCS, Tremont Credit Union, Robert White Associates, Daniel Rivers (Nexus Alliance Founder), Pat Washington, the MA State Parole Board and the Urban League of East ern Massachusetts.
